This jungle experience would not complete without the ingredients from La Loma’s working farm.

La Loma farm to table approach will leave you feeling the native wisdom through its rich and fresh ingredients. The food is nothing, but local products from the farm and native to the island. The food experience here is provided by indigenous local employees of the farm. This retreat truly gives back to the land and community of Bahia Honda on Bastimentos Island.

You will start your day with delicious Smoothies and Juices from Fruits that Grow at La Loma, Coffee and Tea available too. After Yoga AM, there will be a fresh breakfast prepared for all with delicious vegetarian and vegan options. We will follow with a healthy and yum Lunch also from veggies and grains from the same farm.

A sweet dinner is prepared also during the early night so your body can digest properly the day. The diet consists of lots of fruit and veggies, is light yet nurturing, grounding and satisfying. A typical dinner would be local Root Veggies such as Yucca, Plantain, Coconut Rice, Roasted Veggies, Curries and Native Cacao Desserts.

Fresh, locally sourced and made with deep intention and LOVE. Our vegan fare is prepared to perfectly nourish you, support your digestion and encourage deep healing from the inside out. And it’s orgasmically delicious.

***Fresh, local seafood is an option for the two days that we will have lunch outside.

LA LOMA JUNGLE LODGE & CACAO FARM

La Loma is all about the outside and the outside here is glorious – towering trees, deep green mangrove bays and glittering beaches. Whether you’re swinging in a hammock as blue Morpho butterflies drift by, wandering jungle trails or peeling cacao beans you’ll discover first-hand the magnificence of this tropical island.

We’ve handmade only 4 ranchos each inconspicuously sited in the verdant jungle. Using vernacular architecture, we’ve designed beautiful simple retreats made from naturally fallen trees, sustainably harvested lumber and other renewable natural materials such as bamboo and wild cane. Each rancho has a private bathroom with a hot water shower, comfortable beds with enormous canopy mosquito nets and furniture crafted on-site from local materials.

Solar panels provide power for subtle lighting and ceiling fans. Water is supplied from on-site springs and rain catchment systems. There are no TVs or air conditioners at La Loma only the exuberant sounds of the jungle, cool breezes from the bay and binoculars to watch life in the treetops.

You’ll need to be fit to stay at La Loma; three of our four ranchos are accessed by a steep 5–7 minute climb. The views are worth the hike.
